In our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebrokeronline.eu\/articles\/our-inequality-dossier\/\" target=\"_blank\">Inequality Dossier<\/a> The Broker dissects the current upsurge of this inequality debate. We discuss the different approaches to inequality,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebrokeronline.eu\/articles\/putting-inequality-on-the-map\/\" target=\"_blank\">&nbsp;map out where inequality is located<\/a>, examine its economic, social and political <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebrokeronline.eu\/articles\/stalling-growth-and-development\/\" target=\"_blank\">consequences for societies<\/a>, and review the effectiveness of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thebrokeronline.eu\/articles\/embracing-inclusive-growth\/\" target=\"_blank\">different economic policies<\/a> in combating income inequality. Throughout the report, we demonstrate that within-country income inequality is increasingly becoming a problem for societies and an urgent matter of concern for global policy makers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yunu3cvqabft7vifv\">The Broker is&nbsp;hosting a debate to discuss the importance of inequality for global development policies. This debate takes place in the general context of an on-going focus on The Broker website on the post-2015 agenda.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yunu3cvqabft7vifv\">Main question: should inequality be one of the central themes, or perhaps the central theme, of the post-2015 global development agenda? And if so, in what way?<\/p>\n<p class=\"yunu3cvqabft7vifv\">There are a number of important sub-questions relating to the main question, including: Should the fight against poverty be formulated in terms of national income inequality, as Andy Sumner argues? If so, should the focus on poverty and inequality reduction lie on middle- rather than low-income countries? What kind of economic (growth) model is suitable in the pursuit of a sustainable and inclusive world? Should the developed world be part of this quest?<\/p>\n<p class=\"yunu3cvqabft7vifv\">And of course we are open to critical comments of the articles in our Inequality Dossier.<\/p>\n<p class=\"yunu3cvqabft7vifv\">You are warmly invited to join the debate!
